Made from flowers offered at the Badrinath Temple, the Himalayan abode of Lord Vishnu, in the high country long associated with Mahavatar Babaji.
Handcrafted from the flowers offered at Badrinath, these incense sticks carry the blessings of one of the four sacred abodes of the Char Dham Yatra. Tradition holds that in the 9th century, Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya recovered an idol of Lord Vishnu from the Alaknanda River and placed it in a cave; in the 16th century the King of Garhwal built the Badrinath Temple and enshrined the idol within it. Pilgrims believe a visit cleanses one of sin, purifies the soul, and leads one toward moksha.
Infused with kesar and chandan, auspicious elements of Hindu ritual, the fragrance is deep, woody, and creamy, well suited to morning and evening prayers offered to Lord Vishnu.
