We designed our Silk and Wool Wedge Meditation Cushion with the help of meditation and posture experts, and instructions from Paramahansa Yogananda, for the specific purpose of meditation on a chair. It is unequaled in support and comfort.

It is covered with 100% wool on the bottom and 100% Dupioni silk from India on the top —insulation from disruptive earth currents (according to Paramahansa Yogananda's instructions).
A specific combination of high-density foam for support and and memory foam for comfort

There's a big problem with most chairs— they are not designed for meditation! It’s very difficult to have good posture on a chair. And chairs cannot be adjusted. But problems bring solutions! And the solution is a wedge cushion

The wedge cushion fixes the backwards slope of chairs. This allows your pelvis to roll forward and create the natural curve of the lumbar, which results in an open chest, allowing for full and relaxed breathing and an ‘open heart’. Your back muscles can relax when the posture is correct.

About Dupioni Silk

Dupioni (meaning "double") Silk is produced when two or more silkworms spin their cocoons closely together. These slightly tangled cocoons produce filament that is rough, uneven and not as strong as cultivated silk. It is usually reeled and used to make fine or heavy yarns with pronounced irregular slubs at random intervals. Dupioni silk usually comes from cultivated, rather than wild, silkworms because their living quarters are more crowded, increasing their chances of tangling the cocoons. The irregular, crosswise ribs of Dupioni are formed by filling yarns that have occasional soft, thick lumps. The lumps, or slubs, add texture and visual interest to the fabric. This fabric is medium in weight, with a crisp, scrunchy hand, uneven texture and, generally, a very shimmery luster.

About Raw Silk - Purple

We also have some of the purple raw silk cushions. Raw silk, or silk noil, has a nubby feel and almost no sheen. It is slightly thicker and soft, and somewhat resembles cotton in surface texture. It has the same vibrational effect as other 100% silks.

Months ago, I ordered 2 blue raw silk cushions for our visiting monastics. They are a beautiful blue and very well made. So, I ordered 2 more for our family's personal use. We sit on chairs and the cushions add the right height and forward angle.

good quality, bit on the small side

First of all, I have to get used to sitting on a wedge cushion. The quality is good but the cushion could have been somewhat broader.
I am slim and it just fits, would have been pleasant if were broader.
