Rabindranath Tagore rejected a formal education and was mocked by many of his peers, that is until he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature! Tagore was a poet, novelist, musician, painter and playwright who reshaped Bengali literature and music. Two of his songs were adopted as national anthems.
His multifaceted life was as fascinating as it was inspiring. John Lennon was by no means the first person to refuse a British Honour, as Rabindranath Tagore turned down a Knighthood many years before!
These comics are endearing to the young and old. Reading them is an inspiring and fun way to learn about India's saints and sages - and it's a lot easier than studying the Vedas! Comics are also a great way for children to learn, which is why they are an integral part of most Indian households.
We carry Amar Chitra Katha comics as they have the most consistent quality. We import all of our comics direct from India. The quality is generally good, but please make allowance for the fact that they are printed economically in India.
