Care & Maintenance of Wool
With proper care any pure wool textile can last for years. But washing and cleaning wool by hand is an elaborate process. Please feel free to dry clean this gorgeous piece of textile if you prefer that.
Wool washing guide

Use luke warm water (86 F / 30 C) in a bucket

dissolve a small amount of mild detergent for wool or shampoo in it

Submerge the shawl in it and move it gently move it around a bit

Run cold water over it to rinse out the soap suds

DO NOT use fabric softener

Apply gentle pressure to remove extra water. DO NOT twist or wring out the fabric

It is best to lay it flat to dry. Otherwise fold it once or twice and lay it on a clothing rack so it can dry from both sides.

Avoid direct sunlight.

When it is partially dry, it can be hung on a clothesline (avoiding direct sunlight) to fully dry out without stretching out the fibers.

Once it is completely dry, it can be steamed our ironed with medium heat.
